Welcome to the Lancashire Website for English teachers.

My name is Anne Kenworthy and, as of January 2015, I have been the Lancashire Consultant for English. Working as part of a very experienced team with a well respected record of supporting learning and achievement, I enjoy working with English teachers and pupils in schools throughout Lancashire and beyond.

Subject Leaders in Lancashire meet to exchange and develop good practice at termly network meetings. The dates for this year are: 9 November, 15 March and 21 June.  Subject Leaders outside Lancashire are welcome to join- places can be reserved by emailing Alison.kenyon@lancashire.gov.uk or through the link on our courses page. Support for Literacy co-ordinators is through our Literacy Network with three meetings this year on Autumn date TBC, 16 January and 27 June.    Following action reserach, our Assessment without Levels Programme is now running successfully throughout the County and beyond. Support for schools wishing to take up the programme can be arranged on an individual basis by contacting myself  at anne.kenworthy@lancashire.gov.uk. Through these networks and courses Lancashire aims to support teachers in keeping abreast of the latest in good practice and I look forward to meeting many of you at some point during this academic year.

Five Year Flightpath to GCSE

Lancashire Five Year Programme of Study

Lancashire now has a model five year programme of study which exemplifies how to build in challenge and progression across all abilies and all years.

This has been devised as part of an action research project. It offers sample schemes of work differentiated by four ability pathways along with sample asessments and sample lessons also differentiated. It is not intended to be an "off the shelf" product but a model which can support schools in modifying their existing plans, assesments and classroom approaches to fit the new pathways to GCSE.

Any schools wishing to have an introduction, training or support on how this could work for them should contact Anne Kenworthy - English Consultant for Lancashire for further details anne.kenworthy@lancashire.gov.uk
