In this unit pupils learn to use and create branching databases to sort and classify information. Pupils will use 'yes/no' questions to separate a set of objects into two sub-sets. They are shown how to search and create/modify branching databases. They will apply what they have learned in this unit when classifying things such as plants and animals in science.
This is a modified 'Fruits' file that was supplied by the suppliers of the program. It contains 18 named fruits, with 45 pictures of fruits. Teachers might wish to print out each fruit as a display, resource
They should also use them as 'unknown fruits' for pupils, who should use the binary database to identify the fruit.
