Mathematics for Able Pupils

  • Offers you FREE enrichment material (Problems, Articles and Games) at all Key Stages that really can help to inspire and engage learners and embed RICH tasks into everyday practice.
  • Helps to promote RICH thinking in classrooms by offering on-line and face-to-face support at Primary and Secondary level.
  • Delivers professional development courses and workshops in rich mathematics.
  • Helps teachers to think strategically about 'next steps' and progression in problem solving.

  Although the Further Mathematics Support Programme is primarily for AS and A level teachers and students, it is also has things to offer for able pupils in KS3 and KS4.  Click on the icon to link to the North West page of the website.
Click on the icon to access GCSE Mathematics extension materials aimed at students who are working towards GCSE Mathematics and would benefit from exposure to mathematics beyond the GCSE specifications.

  World Class Arena is an international initiative designed to identify and assess gifted and talented students around the world.  At its heart are World Class Tests in mathematics and problem solving aimed at upper primary and lower secondary. This training module is intended to support mathematics departments considering their provision for able mathematicians. It presents a collaborative working session lasting approximately 75 minutes.
