Prevent|Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council Prevent team were chosen, as one of the areas nationally to pilot a Lancashire countywide approach to Prevent Delivery Prevent Delivery Officers work with students to raise awareness and resilience, and deliver Prevent training to staff, governors and parents. The aim is to help stop vulnerable individuals from becoming involved in extremism or supporting terrorist activity. Unfortunately, that influence may be from extremists who may use the COVID 19 outbreak to promote hateful views, for example, conspiracy theories and spreading of misinformation and blaming particular groups. In raising awareness and increasing understanding of digital safety, parents , carers and practitioners will be better equipped to safeguard loved ones and those in their care from a range of harms. Whether that’s child sexual exploitation, fraud, or extremist influences seeking to radicalise vulnerable people.
