About Us

Consultancy & School Based Training          


Science training and consultancy is available across all key stages from foundation through to key stage 2.  Services provided by the team include:  

  •                 A wide range of bespoke in-school training
  •                 Consultancy work with individuals on such issues as:-
  •         policy development
  •         Scheme of work
  •         resource management
  •         preparation for inspection

 

All school-based training sessions can be tailored to match school needs, and other sessions are available by arrangement.


Rachael Webb, Teacher Adviser Science


Rachael Webb joined the Learning Excellence Team as Teacher Adviser for Primary Science in January 2007. She has 13 years teaching experience across the primary age range with particular expertise in Key Stage2, co-ordinating science at several schools across Lancashire.

Rachael's particular interest is in Scientific Enquiry and her enthusiasm stems around exciting young people about science. She worked for 4 years as Education Manager and then director at catalyst, The Chemical Industry Museum in Cheshire.

Rachael is an experienced presenter of science based INSETs and has worked with teachers and subject leaders across Stockport, Liverpool, Cheshire and Halton authorities.

Rachael is available for individual school based consultancies or whole INSET sessions tailored to your needs.


Shehnaz Vorajee, Teacher Adviser Science


Shehnaz is a Primary Science Teacher Adviser with a wealth of experience. She is passionate about inculcating the love of learning in children through excellent teaching and learning strategies. She was awarded the 'Primary Science Teacher of the Year,' as well as being invited to the House of Lords for her achievements as an outstanding teacher.

 

She continues to provide demonstration lessons in practical science as well as supporting teachers through team teaching and providing advice on creating an exciting classroom environment which promotes deeper learning.

 

She gained extensive experience working with many schools in Lancashire as an Advanced Skills Teacher supporting science subject leaders and class teachers. She is a mentor for trainee teachers and NQTs and has taught on the Undergraduate Primary Science Programme at Edge Hill University. She was part of the working party in developing assessment materials for the national tests at the end of Key Stage 2.

 

Shehnaz has worked as an Acting Deputy Headteacher and was seconded from school part-time to provide CPD in Science for teachers in Lancashire whilst continuing to fulfil her role as a classroom teacher.

 

She has now joined the Learning Excellence team full-time and is available for individual school based consultancies; modelled/team teaching and whole INSET sessions tailored to your needs.
