New National Curriculum 2014

This is a new area dedicated to the new National Curriculum for Mathematics 2014.

Over the coming months it will become populated with guidance and support for planning from the new curriculum.

The Government has announced that children starting Year 3 and Year 4 in September 2013 can begin using the new curriculum. This is because the children beginning Year 4 in September 2013 will be the first cohort to be assessed on the new curriculum when they sit their SATs for the end of Key Stage 2 in 2016.

From September 2014 it will be statutory for children in Years 1, 3, 4 and 5 to be learning from the new curriculum.

Years 2 and 6 are required to begin learning from the new curriculum from September 2015.

The complete National Curriculum for Mathematics 2014 can be found here.

We have highlighted the changes in the new National Curriculum 2014 from the National Curriculum 2000 and the Framework for Mathematics. This document can be found here.
