An Introduction to the NEW Association for Physical Education publication ‘Safe Practice in Physical Education and School Sport 2012’

Course Objectives
• All workshop attendees will receive a copy of the latest edition of Safe Practice in Physical Education and School Sport (publication date May 2012).
• There will be an opportunity for colleagues to discuss their own practice and receive an update on nationally recognised guidance, statute and case law relevant to Physical Education, physical activity and school sport.
• This workshop is essential for all those who teach and lead physical education within a school, as well as those within leadership teams who have responsibility for ensuring effective health and safety procedures are in place within their setting.

Lancashire Electronic PE Scheme of Work

Information and sample lesson and assessment material of the Lancashire PE scheme of work can be found in the curriculum section of this website.

Core Task Progression Overview

This document will help with setting up a pupil progress and tracking system through using the core tasks in the electronic version of the Lancashire Scheme of Work.

All the assessment materials are included in the folder for each core task on the CD and these materials can be used with this document to develop a pupil tracking system through the core tasks.

PE Newsletter - Autumn 2011 and letter sent to all headteachers and subject leaders through the portal at the beginning of November.

New Guidance on Using Coaches in the Curriculum

This is a new guidance  document that has been created by Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen PE teams to support schools who employ coaches to support curriculum delivery.

Lancashire are also delivering a course for Adults supporting learning in primary PE which is suitable for coaches and is recommended for all coaches who support PE delivery.

Approved Provider

Lancashire PE Team have approved provider status for delivering professional developnment by the Association for Physical Education. We also have approved provider status for a resource which is the Lancashire PE Scheme of Work.

Next Adults Supporting Learners Course for Coaches working in curriculum time is Friday 9 December 2011 at David Lloyd Leisure Club in Chorley.
