Early Music Makers

Early Music Makers is designed to help the Early Years Practitioner grow in confidence in the provision of musical activities. It offers opportunities for practitioners to provide a scaffold for the musical development of the child with a whole section on continuous provision.

The activities in this book are intended to meet the needs and abilities of all children, developed around the new EYFS. Some of the activities may appear to be particularly challenging, but they are intended for more able children in the EYFS or even to provide a bridge between Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

The tasks described are multifaceted, catering for a wide range of skills and abilities. They can be used to facilitate learning on many levels beyond increased musical ability. The pack includes 3 CDs with approximately 50 original songs and backing tracks

Early Music Makers is the result of partnership working between Lancashire Music Service, Lancashire County Council and One Education Music.

PE Scheme of Work - Early Years Foundation Stage

This New Lancashire Scheme of Work for Reception classes has been updated to link with the EYFS Framework 2012.

This scheme has a themed approach based on Fundamental Movement Skills to ensure that children have experience of the skills recommended before commencing Key Stage 1 Physical Education.

The scheme of work has 12 medium term themes and also 22 dance type activities and a CD of music. There are examples of how the medium term themes can be developed through lesson progressions enabling staff to provide developmentally appropriate physical development learning activities for children in Reception.
