Who to Contact


The Early Years Team offers a range of flexible, supportive consultancy models tailored to the needs of your school, setting or cluster. Provided by our experienced Teaching and Learning Consultants, they enable you to access our breadth of skills and specialisms in a way that suits your needs.

The team has a reputation, both within Lancashire and beyond, for high quality support, advice and training. We take pride in our ability to build good working relationships, helping to ensure that collaboration results in swifter impact on learning.

·          Getting started in Reception / Nursery – support for staff new to EYFS.

Teaching and Learning Consultant (Early Years)- Anne Conroy


Anne has a B.Ed Hons Degree in Special Educational Needs and as a teacher has worked primarily within the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. As Teaching and Learning Consultant for Early Years, Anne specialises in delivering training and consultancies on Foundation Stage Curriculum, observation , assessment, outdoor play, behaviour management, transition from Reception to Key Stage 1, and mixed stage planning. In addition Anne gives support and advice to schools in the organisation and management of the learning environment, both inside and outside for Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and birth to threes.

Lead Senior EYFS Consultant


Anne previously taught in an infant school and was a leading literacy teacher for the local authority

Annette Shepherd
 Senior EYFS Consultant


MA in Early Years. NPQH. Annette previously led the EYFS and key stage one in a primary school and managed a private nursery.  Annette was a lead practitioner for the local authority

Jill Anderton

Jill previously led a foundation stage unit in a primary school and was a leading foundation stage teacher, advanced skills teacher and an associate consultant for the local authority

Cathy previously taught in primary  schools.  Cathy leads the Step Outside and Step with Boys programmes along with Expressive arts and design

Julie previously taught in a primary school and was a leading foundation stage teacher for the local authority.

MA in Early Years.  Judith previously taught in a nursery class and managed a private nursery before becoming a children's centre teacher.  Judith is a forest school leader

Joanne was an NNEB before teaching in primary schools.  She has led a foundation stage team and taught in an Early Excellence Centre. Joanne leads the Step into Quality programmes

NPQH. Ann previously taught in a nursery school, was a leading foundation stage teacher for the local authority and was an acting Headteacher.

Sarah previously taught in a foundation stage unit and was a leading foundation stage teacher for the local authority.  Sarah leads the mathematics award programme

Early Years Consultant


MA in Education. Penny previously managed a maintained nursery as well as teaching in reception and key stage one. Penny leads the Equality Award

EYPS. Elaine previously managed a private nursery and worked in a primary school.  Elaine leads a number of the practical workshops and is a forest school leader
