Examples of EYFS Reporting

Due to requests from schools, we have gathered four examples of how some Lancashire schools are intending to report to parents, at the end of the EYFS. Practitioners may wish to adapt/amend one of these formats, adding in a school logo etc, or they may wish to compile their own. They are merely intended to provide ideas and starting points.

You will find brief guidance notes here regarding reporting.

Example 1;  landscape,  includes comment boxes for areas of learning.  Emerging/expected/exceeding for each ELG can be highlighted/shaded as required or the unneeded judgements deleted

Click here for an example of how one school completed this report format

Example 2;  as example 1, with separate comment boxes for each ELG, rather than area of learning.

Example 3;  portrait style, with list of ELGs on front page and space for emerging/expected/exceeding; boxes on last page for comments of areas of learning (these may need to be spaced out over two pages and/or resized according to a school's requirements)

Click here for an example of how one school completed this report format

Example 4;  portrait style, with ELGs and comment box combined; emerging/expected/exceeding can be highlighted or the unneeded judgements deleted.

Click here for an example of how one school completed this report format

Example 5: landscape style, with ELGs and separate comments boxes for each area of learning. emerging/expected/exceeding can be ticked next to each ELG. 2nd page includes space to write about each characteristic of effective learning and comments from teacher and head teacher.
