02 February 2012 KS2 SATs - Example Level 6 Papers
Level 6 tests in English reading, writing and mathematics now form part of the suite of Key Stage 2 National Curriculum tests. These tests are optional and are aimed at high attaining children. The level 6 English reading and mathematics tests will be provided to schools who have registered children for these tests and must be administered on the dates specified in the test timetable. Completed test scripts should be sent for external marking. Sample level 6 tests for Reading, Writing and Mathematics are now available for schools to download from the Test orders section of NCA tools website. 18 January 2012 Year 1 phonics screening check – Information from the DfE The Year 1 phonics screening check Assessment and reporting arrangements is now available to download here. The ARA contains important information for all those responsible for assessment and reporting, in particular headteachers and governing bodies. Information on the structure and content of the phonics screening check is now also available here in sample material. Schools will receive both the ARA and sample materials as hard copies shortly. Finally the Assessment framework online for the development of the Year 1 phonics screening check is available here. This document sets out the specification for the development of the phonics screening check for 2012 and beyond. 13 January 2012 Phonics Materials from the DfE Please find here some updated phonics materials from the DfE website. These include an example of what the Y1 phonics test might look like, a suggested flier for parents and some background information. The traffic light tracker document is a useful tool for tracking phonics across KS1. Further help, support and advice can be sought from the Lancashire Literacy Team. 12 January 2012 Pupil Attitude Questionnaire Project 2011/12 Information regarding participation in the 2011/12 PAQ: Pupil Attitude Questionnaire Project has been sent to schools on the 9th January 2012. Schools have until 6 February 2012 to indicate whether or not they wish to participate.. As last year we will include the "PAQ Self Evaluation Report". Feedback from many headteachers indicated that this was very useful and effective, in that staff could then use the pre-populated narrative analysis to copy into other documents in school; for example, feedback to pupils, parents and governors, and/or the school's own self evaluation format. Assessing pupils eligibility for additional time A useful list of available tests schools can use in assessing pupils eligibility for additional time in this years SAT tests is available here.14 November 2011 The Assessment and Reporting Arrangement booklets Information on the statutory assessment and reporting requirements for EYFSP, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 including moderation. Guidance on how to administer Key Stage 1 tasks and tests can also be found. 26 September 2011 eProfile (version 3.3) The QCDA have released the latest version of eProfile (3.3) which is now available for download, the user manual is available here. Schools who use eProfile are strongly advised by the QCDA to upgrade to the new version. Any data already entered for this year (2012) in version 3.2 will automatically transfer across, however it is advisable to back up your work before upgrading. PIVATS 4 PIVATS (Performance Indicators for Value Added Target Setting) is a school-based assessment tool building on the P-Scales that will help you to inform target setting for pupils of all ages whose performance is outside national expectations.
